Role


Duties & Responsibilities

- 01) To ensure environmental, health and safety rules and guidelines are being adhered to and maintain high safety standard and a safe working environment.

- 02) To plan and coordinate day-to-day utility activities to meet production schedule and internal requirement.

- 03) To manage utility manpower and shift roster, ensuring all resources are efficiently utilized in the execution of production activities.

- 04) To plan and coordinate the start-up or shutdown activities of utility units or facilities according to the approved operating procedures and general instructions.

- 05) To provide technical advice and guidance to production team in related to plant operation matters and process troubleshooting.

- 06) To communicate all utility plant updates or related information to the production team, and ensure the management is kept informed of all production, quality and EHS related issues.

- 07) To ensure utility operating staffs are appropriately trained and assessed, and competent to fulfil their job responsibilities to the highest standards.

- 08) To perform regular audit to ensure proper and complete records of operating data, instrument readings, documentation, and results of laboratory analyses in logbooks.

- 09) To analyse and report on utility plant operational performance on monthly basis including production performance, plant downtime, utilities consumption and overall plant achievement.

- 10) To participate in process safety improvement projects and cost reduction studies of raw materials, utilities consumption and plant equipment.

- 11) To establish work instructions and perform HIRARC study as per requirement.

- 12) To perform systematic utility process/equipment troubleshooting for abnormal plant operation or process upset and ensure any deviation or process abnormality is thoroughly investigated and actions to prevent recurrence are effectively implemented.

- 13) To perform safety incident investigation and generate reports for the completed investigations and recommended corrective/preventive actions.

- 14) To respond to emergency situations by taking necessary shutdown or process adjustment actions to restore normal operating conditions.

- 15) To participate in plant inspection or audit by internal and external parties.

- 16) To ensure all activities are carried out with full compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, safety management system and any other requirements as stipulated in the system, by practicing them accordingly and ensure ISO procedures are updated and adhered to
- 17) To perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by superior from time to time.

Job Requirements
- 01) Candidates must possess at least a bachelor’s degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree or master’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Process, Polymer, Petroleum) or equivalent.

- 02) Relevant work experience in polymer synthesis and petrochemical synthesis plant would be advantageous.

- 03) Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

- 04) Good command of English & Malay (spoken and written).

- 05) Good knowledge of process safety and personal safety.

- 06) Good knowledge and application of scientific approach to resolve problems.

- 07) Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- 08) Results oriented, strong follow up and good negotiation skills with proven track records.

- 09) Pleasant personality and able to interact all levels of people.
